Fantic Caballero 500 Explorer: pierwsze wrażenia
Bardzo dobrze pamiętam swoje emocje po przejechaniu pierwszych motogodzin na Husqvarnie FE 450. Duże oczy, szczęka na ziemii, adrenalina niemalże pod sufitem. Husqvarna od początku kojarzyła mi się z dzikim stworzeniem, wiedziałam, że nie łatwo będzie ją ujarzmić, ale czułam też, że zabierze mnie w podróże życia. Jak będzie teraz? Jaki potencjał ma Caballero 500?
Fantic to jeszcze mało rozpoznawalna marka. Każdy wie że GS to bawarczyk, Africa, Yamahy, Suzuki japończyk. A Fantic? Choć miłośnicy scramblerów będą wiedzieć, że Caballero od Fantica to włoski gentleman, sporo osób poprosi o przedstawienie marki. Zatem…

Fantic Motor to włoski producent motocykli enduro, supermoto, cross, a od niedawna również e-bików. Firma została założona ponad pół wieku temu przez dr. Mario Agrati i Henry'ego Keppel-Hesselinka.
Caballero - Dżentelman w sombrero
Caballero z hiszpańskiego oznacza gentleman / rycerz.
Uważa się, że sama nazwa motocykla pochodzi od marki papierosów palonych przez założyciela firmy Fantic. W jednym z wywiadów (udzielonych w 2002 r.) dr Mario Agrati przywołuje jednak trochę inną sekwencję zdarzeń: “Nazwa Caballero to owoc ówczesnej intuicji. Prawdę mówiąc, w tamtych czasach modna była słynna reklama związana z marką kawy, z tym facetem siedzącym z sombrero na głowie. Jedno poprowadziło do drugiego, spodobał się ten pomysł i tak w niecodzienny sposób narodziła się nazwa Caballero. (...) Nie obyło się jednak bez problemów. W rzeczywistości nazwa Caballero w Holandii była dobrze rozpoznawalną marką papierosów i z tego powodu w tym kraju nie mogła być używana. Dlatego zastąpiła ją nazwą Carrera.” (*)
Dlaczego wybraliśmy Fantic Caballero 500 Explorer?
Na Fantic Caballero 500 Explorer zdecydowaliśmy się w myśl zasady ‘light is right’. Długo szukaliśmy czegoś czym pojeździmy zarówno po szosach jak i w terenie. Robiliśmy sporo przymiarek, chcieliśmy czegoś lekkiego, wygodnego, a przy okazji ładnego.
Fantic Caballero 500 Explorer: easy rider
Dźwięk jaki wydaje ten jednocylindrowy 4-suw to miód dla uszu, włoski design cieszy oczy, a wysoki prześwit to uśmiech z zabawy w terenie. Sam motocykl waży 150 kg i nie jest za wysoki co oznacza łatwość manewrowania i dużą dawkę przyjemności z prowadzenia. Easy rider - tak dokładnie można opisać pierwsze wrażenia z jazdy.
Motocykl wyposażony jest w silnik o pojemności 449 ccm, o mocy 40 KM. Dzięki dwuobwodowemu, odłączanemu systemowi ABS, jazda jest bezpieczniejsza, szczególnie podczas hamowania. Motocykl waży 150 kg, co czyni go stosunkowo lekkim i łatwym do manewrowania. Zbiornik paliwa o pojemności 12 litrów umożliwia dłuższe przejażdżki bez częstych przerw na tankowanie. Wysokość siedzenia wynosi 820 mm. Dodatkowo, motocykl jest wyposażony w podwójny wydech ARROW, który nie tylko dodaje stylu, ale również poprawia wydajność silnika.
Niedługo planujemy wybrać się w kilka dalszych przejażdżek i z pewnością będzie to okazja do zweryfikowania, czy pierwsze pozytywne wrażenia zostaną z nami na dłużej.

I remember very well my emotions after the first moto hours on the Husqvarna FE 450. Big eyes, jaw on the ground, adrenaline almost under the ceiling. Husqvarna was associated with a wild creature from the beginning, I knew that it would not be easy to tame it, but I also felt that it would take me on the journeys of a lifetime. How will it be now? What potential does the Caballero Fantic 500 have?
Caballero is still a little recognizable brand. Everyone knows that BMW is Bavarian, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki Japanese. And Caballero? While scrambler lovers will know that Caballero is an Italian gentleman, quite a few people will ask to introduce the brand. Therefore…

Fantic Motor is an Italian manufacturer of enduro, supermoto, cross motorcycles, and recently also e-bikes. The company was founded over half a century ago by Dr. Mario Agrati and Henry Keppel-Hesselink.
A gentleman in a sombrero
Caballero in Spanish means gentleman/knight.
It is believed that the name of the motorcycle itself comes from the brand of cigarettes smoked by the founder of Fantic. In one of the interviews (given in 2002), however, Dr. Mario Agrati recalls a slightly different sequence of events: “The name Caballero is the fruit of the intuition of the time. In fact, at the time, the famous ad for the coffee brand was in vogue, with this guy sitting with a sombrero on his head. One thing led to another, they liked the idea and in an unusual way the name Caballero was born. (...) However, it was not without problems. In fact, the name Caballero in the Netherlands was a well-known brand of cigarettes and therefore could not be used in this country. That's why she replaced it with the name Carrera." (*)
First impressions
We decided on the Fantic Caballero 500 Explorer according to the ‘light is right’ principle. We have been looking for something that we can ride both on and off road for a long time. We did a lot of fittings, we wanted something light, comfortable and nice at the same time.
The sound of this single-cylinder 4-stroke is honey to the ears, the Italian design pleases the eyes, and the high ground clearance is a smile from off-road fun. The motorcycle itself weighs 150 kg and is not too tall, which means easy maneuvering and a large dose of driving pleasure. Easy rider - this is exactly how you can describe the first impressions of riding.
Soon we plan to go on a few more rides and it will certainly be an opportunity to verify whether the first positive impressions will stay with us for longer.
